Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched a manhunt for five individuals, who have been evading hearings at the Maduvvari Magistrate Court in Raa atoll.

In a statement issued on Sunday, police launched a manhunt for; Mohamed Nahyan, 26; Mohamed Naail, 35; Ismail Siruhaan, 22; Abdul Shaheed Abdul Haadhee, 33; and Hussain Kausar, 31. All five are from Maduvvari island.

The police have been ordered to produce all five to court under police custody.

Nahyan, charged with disrupting peace, has been ordered to be produced to court at 1:30pm on April 10, while Naail is to be produced at 1:30pm the next day- he is charged with theft. Siruhaan is charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, and is to be produced to court at 10am on April 9. Abdul Hadhee, charged with abusing dimorphine, is to be produced to court at 2pm on April 14, while Kausar is to be presented at 2:30pm the same day- he is charged with sexually abusing a minor.
