Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched an investigation into an arson attack on Rumaalu-2, a party camp of the ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).

According to PPM, the attack was carried out early Sunday morning at around 4:10am, and was directed toward the stage and podium inside the camp.

While the camp’s security is overlooked by an individual company, police have confirmed that it has launched an investigation over the attack after receiving a report. However, police did not reveal any further details on the matter.
