MP Mohamed Musthafa, who was implicated in a defamation case that led to privately-operated Raajje Television being fined by hefty amounts, has been summoned to the police over the matter.
Musthafa announced this in a post on his Twitter account, where he asked why he is being summoned. Musthafa said that he had previously provided his statement.

Musthafa further insinuated that the police are attempting to find any means to intimidate parliamentarians aligned with the opposition.
On October 8th, the Maldives Broadcasting Commission fined Raajje Television by a sum of MVR 500,000 over a statement MP Musthafa made during a live program.
Mustahfa had reportedly spoken in a manner that encouraged the overthrow the government and slandered it.
