Easa Khaleel
Easa Khaleel, the Former President of K Kaashidhoo Council, has been found dead inside his dinghy at the island’s coast.
Ali Sultan, the incumbent council president, told RaajjeMV that 57-year-old Khaleel’s body was found at 2:45pm on Sunday.
Doctors declared him dead-on-arrival at the local health centre, he said.
An island local said Khaleel had gone out for a swim with some tourists, and was last seen anchoring the dinghy after the tourists left.
Khaleel won the council presidency in 2011, and had went on to serve two terms.
