Officers of the Maldives Police Service has initiated a special operation in the capital Malé City.

The operation is aimed at maintaining peace in and around the city, the law enforcement body said.

Under this operation, officers will patrol the streets and question those they find suspicious, and search homes and properties in addition to patrolling the waters in Kaafu Atoll.

The operation is conducted by the police’s investigation and intelligence departments.
