The Maldives Meteorological Service has urged the public to remain vigilant as heavy rain clouds forming to the west of the country begin moving over the atolls.
MMS announced on Wednesday that the southwest monsoon has intensified across the region. This intensification, coupled with low-pressure systems forming in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, has led to heavy rain clouds developing to the west of the Maldives and moving across the archipelago.
The Maldives Meteorological Service has forecast widespread rain across the country over the next 24 hours, with heavy downpours expected in some islands. Additionally, strong winds and rough seas are anticipated over the next three days, particularly affecting the northern and central atolls.
Furthermore, the National Meteorological Centre has urged everyone, particularly seafarers, to remain vigilant regarding weather conditions and to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts.
