Echoing these concerns, Male’ City Mayor Adam Azim accused the government of obstructing the council’s budget and stripping its powers, asserting that comprehensive public services can only be effectively delivered under an MDP-led government.

Former Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated that a government led by the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) would be one capable of resolving all the current challenges facing the nation.
During a visit to the local travelers' market on Friday, where they met with vendors and the public, former Vice President Faisal Naseem and Male' City Mayor Adam Azim addressed the pressing economic challenges facing the country. In an interview following the visit, Faisal stated that the most significant issue currently confronting the Maldives is the soaring cost of living and the rising prices of essential goods.
As the administration approaches its third year, it has failed to address the continuous weekly rise in the cost of living. Faisal highlighted that this persistent inflation remains a significant concern for the general public.

Faisal stated that the current administration has failed to provide solutions, asserting that an MDP government would be one that delivers comprehensive results across all sectors.
Furthermore, Mayor Azim stated that while the travelers' market and other local markets require redevelopment, the government has seized the funds allocated for such major projects, creating numerous obstacles for the council.
Azim stated that he does not foresee any administration other than an MDP government being capable of providing quality services to the citizens.
The people cast their votes for me based on the specific powers and mandates granted under existing laws. However, those very laws have now been manipulated and obstructed to the point where the legal framework that existed when the public voted has been effectively abolished.Adam Azim
