MDP decides to hold congress from October 1 to 3

The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has decided to hold its congress from October 1st to 3rd.
Speaking at a press conference held by the MDP on Thursday, the party's Deputy Chairperson, Mohamed Shifaz, announced that this year's congress is scheduled to take place at the Male' City Hall. He further noted that the official session of the congress is slated to be held on the night of October 1st.
Shifaz stated that the list of participants and the full delegation for the congress will be announced within the next three days.
Noting that the theme for this year’s congress is "Local Innovation," Shifaz stated that one session will be conducted as an investment forum in collaboration with local councils. He further explained that the objective is to identify projects proposed by the councils and secure potential investors from both the Maldives and abroad to implement them.
Shifaz stated that the MDP aims to present more than 100 projects to investors during the Congress's investment forum.
The MDP Congress is a convention held every five years. This year's MDP Congress was initially scheduled to take place from September 19 to 21. However, despite requests made to the government to secure space at various venues to host the event, no location has been granted thus far.
