Maimoon, Vice President of MDP's Youth Wing, arrested following conclusion of a protest

Maimoon Ahmed, the Vice President of the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party’s (MDP) Youth Wing, has been arrested.
Maimoon was arrested late Monday night under a court order. However, police have not yet disclosed the specific allegations against him. According to available information, the arrest took place following the conclusion of a protest held by the MDP on Monday night.
When contacted by RaajjeMV for further clarification on the matter, the police stated that they would provide a response once they had reviewed the details.
During Monday's National Congress meeting, the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) passed a resolution to launch a series of continuous direct actions demanding the resignation of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. Following the meeting, members of the MDP National Congress took to the streets to stage a protest.
Maimoon has been taken into police custody on several previous occasions. Most recently, he was arrested in April this year during a protest organized by the MDP. However, he was subsequently released after being produced before the court for a remand hearing.
