Some WAMCO employees yet to receive salaries for previous month!

Concerns have mounted among several employees of the Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) as they report that they have yet to receive their salaries for the previous month.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, several employees of the Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) reported that they have yet to receive their salaries as of September 7. The employees further noted that they have not been informed of a specific date on which the payments will be disbursed.

Employees have stated that delayed salary payments have now become a common occurrence at WAMCO. They noted that in some instances, the 10th of the month passes without them receiving their wages. The staff further highlighted that despite sharing their grievances and concerns regarding the persistent delays with company management, no solution has been provided.

When contacted by RaajjeTV’s "Fashaairu" program regarding the matter, WAMCO’s head office stated that they are unable to share any information at this time. Specifically, the office declined to confirm whether or not all employees have received their salaries.

Issues regarding delays in salary payments to Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) employees have surfaced previously. Reports indicate that some Maldivian staff do not receive their wages until the middle of the month, while expatriate workers often remain unpaid as late as the 20th.

In addition to salary delays, serious concerns have been raised regarding the failure of the Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) to deposit employee pension contributions. Although pension deductions are being withheld from staff salaries, these funds are reportedly not being credited to their respective pension accounts.
