Bangladeshi nationals arrested in Male' on suspicion of drug trafficking

Authorities seized illicit narcotics from the suspects during the raid and, following the completion of necessary legal procedures, all nine individuals have been handed over to Maldives Immigration for further action.

Police have announced the arrest of nine Bangladeshi nationals in Male' on suspicion of drug trafficking and distribution.
Police stated that the individuals were apprehended during a joint operation conducted by Drug Enforcement and Counter-Narcotics Intelligence on September 1st. The arrests took place during a search of a guesthouse in Male'. Police further confirmed that substances suspected to be narcotics were discovered during the search of the guesthouse premises.
The individuals arrested in connection with this case have been identified as Tohidul Islam (35), Monir Bepari (37), Jakir Munshi (46), MD Abu Zaber Pramanik (37), MD Usman (23), Mohammad Bablu Ali (34), MD Raihan (32), Afrarul Hoque Ashik (34), and Mohammad Rakib Hossain (30). Police confirmed that all the suspects are Bangladeshi nationals.
Police have confirmed that all individuals have now been handed over to Maldives Immigration following the completion of the necessary legal procedures.
The police are currently investigating the matter.
