Frequent CP, Minister Reshuffles Show Systemic Issues: Faisal

Former Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated that the frequent changes to cabinet ministers and Commissioners of Police under President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration are clear indicators of significant internal issues within the government.

Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Fala Surukhee" program, Faisal stated that the police service must uphold professional standards, emphasizing that the primary responsibility for ensuring this lies with the President and the respective cabinet minister. He further noted that several Police Commissioners have already been appointed during the current term, suggesting that these frequent changes indicate the existence of significant underlying issues within the institution.

Police commissioners are not commodities that we can simply go and purchase from a shop whenever we desire. Their development involves extensive training and represents a significant investment by the state and the government.

Noting that frequent changes to government ministers do not reflect well on a nation's character, Faisal highlighted that under the current administration, the Finance Minister has been replaced approximately six times, while the Foreign Minister has been changed two or three times.

Faisal stated that there are circumstances where officials must be reassigned or removed from their positions. He further noted that if an individual is dismissed for failing to fulfill their responsibilities, losing public trust, or lacking the necessary competence, no one would question such a decision. However, Faisal remarked that the current state of affairs in the country does not reflect these principles.

Faisal stated that the current system must be reformed, emphasizing the need to prioritize the interests of the citizens and the nation.
