He noted that no practical implementation is visible, highlighting that critical projects, including land reclamation and road construction, have come to a complete standstill.

Abdulla Rasheed, the MDP National Congress President for the Naifaru constituency, has stated that none of the major pledges made by President Muizzu to Lh. Naifaru during the presidential campaign have yet materialized.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s 'Vaudhunaama' program, he sharply criticized the pace of the government's development projects.
Abdulla Rasheed stated that the government made a total of 26 major pledges for the development of Naifaru during the presidential campaign.
He noted that these initiatives include major development projects as well as several minor upgrading works. However, he pointed out that as the administration approaches its third year in office, the only visible progress is the sand piled up for land reclamation.
Regarding the Naifaru land reclamation project, Abdulla Rasheed stated that the 45-hectare reclaimed area is currently experiencing significant erosion due to the onset of the rough southwest monsoon.
Nearly one-third of the sand used for the reclamation project is already being washed away. It has come to light that all the equipment brought in to protect Naifaru’s shoreline is currently being transferred from one island to another.Abdulla Rasheed
Furthermore, Abdulla Rasheed stated that the Naifaru road construction project has also come to a standstill.
He noted that the project has come to a standstill after pipes were buried along one side of a single street, with no further progress made since then.
Noting that Naifaru has a population exceeding 7,000, Abdulla Rasheed highlighted that 67 percent of the island's residents voted to bring this administration into power. He expressed concern that despite the government designating Naifaru as one of the seven most priority islands for development, no practical progress has been observed on the ground.
