Foundation Still Missing for Promised Madhrasathul Ifthithaah Classrooms

It has come to light that no physical progress has been made on the construction of the new classroom block at Madhrasathul Ifthithaah in Lh. Naifaru, with not even a foundation stone laid for the project pledged by the current administration.

Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Vaudhunaama" program, Abdulla Rasheed, the MDP National Congress President for the Naifaru constituency, expressed concern over President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s failure to fulfill his pledges regarding the advancement of the education sector in Naifaru.

He stated that President Muizzu has repeatedly made numerous pledges to elevate educational standards, noting that the list of commitments is extensive.

Abdulla Rasheed stated that the President had pledged to establish a high-quality college and a university campus in Naifaru. However, he noted that there is currently no visible progress or practical implementation of these promises on the ground in Naifaru.

Furthermore, Abdulla Rasheed stated that no efforts have been made to date to improve the standards of the school.

Three years have passed, yet not a single brick has been laid for the classrooms promised at the site. The building slated for demolition is currently being dismantled using nothing more than a small, ordinary concrete drill. At this rate, the demolition of the building in question will not even be completed by the end of the next three years. This is a dilapidated structure that must be cleared to make way for a new building. To illustrate how the contractors are handling the task: they are attempting to demolish a four-story building using only a small, handheld concrete drill.

Abdulla Rasheed stated that he does not expect any progress for Naifaru’s education sector under the current administration. However, he noted that significant efforts were made during the previous government to improve the quality of the island's schools.
