The First Couple of Maldives have observed the special parade and procession showcased by the Maldives National Defence Force to commemorate the Maldives’ 57th Anniversary of Independence.

The special parade and procession showcased by the Maldives National Defence Force to commemorate the Maldives’ 57th Anniversary of Independence was held on Tuesday afternoon.

Upon arrival in-front of the Republic Square, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed were cordially received by the Minister of Defense, Mariya Ahmed Didi and Chief of Defense Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal.

During the event, the President was offered a presidential salute by the Maldives National Defence Force. It was then followed by the National Anthem, performed by an ensemble orchestra comprising of members from the Maldives National Defence Force.

The event was concluded with a military parade and procession.

Vice President Faisal Naseem and other senior government officials along with the members of general public attended the event.
