Former Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail has stated that President Muizzu's administration is making detrimental decisions while keeping the public in total darkness.
Speaking at a press conference held by the MDP on Tuesday, Fayyaz stated that while a major global conflict impacting Maldivians continues to unfold, the government has failed to disclose what measures are being taken to mitigate the resulting challenges.
Fayyaz stated that the current administration has failed to consult with the business community to mitigate the economic impacts of the ongoing conflict. He further noted that the country is suffering significant losses due to decisions being made without public consultation.

Highlighting that the Maldives currently occupies a highly strategic position in global geopolitics, Fayyaz noted that the country's sovereignty could be compromised if public unrest leads to increasing instability. He further cautioned that such a situation would likely invite major powers to attempt to interfere in the nation's internal affairs.
Furthermore, Fayyaz severely criticized the government, noting that the dollar rate in the black market reached 21.35 Rufiyaa today.
