Police presence must be increased in high-traffic areas of Malé, with a special focus on alleviating the difficulties faced by the public: CP

Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed has urged officers to increase their presence in the busiest areas of Malé and to prioritize alleviating the difficulties faced by the public.

Speaking at a meeting with Traffic Police and Road Management staff on Saturday to launch the Traffic Enhancement Plan, the Commissioner of Police stated that extensive efforts are already underway to ensure road safety and alleviate traffic congestion. The Commissioner further emphasized the need to expand and strengthen these initiatives in the future.

Noting that the number of officers engaged in traffic operations has already been increased, the Commissioner of Police stated that the police presence in Male's high-traffic areas must be further strengthened. The Commissioner also urged officers to prioritize their efforts on minimizing the difficulties and inconveniences faced by the general public.

In accordance with the Commissioner of Police's request, the Traffic and Road Management Department has assured the public that police presence will be expanded to additional areas across Malé to alleviate traffic congestion. The department further stated that efforts are underway to increase the number of personnel assigned to traffic management to broaden the scope of their operations.

The plan inaugurated on Saturday outlines the operational procedures for police officers on duty across Male' and the bridge highway.
