Four injured in group clash; currently receiving treatment
Four Maldivian men are receiving hospital treatment following a violent altercation between two groups in Villimalé. While the police have launched an investigation into the incident, such clashes continue to occur despite government assertions that gang-related crime in the Maldives has seen a decline.

Police have reported that four individuals are receiving hospital treatment following injuries sustained during a violent altercation between two groups.
Police stated that a report was received at approximately 3:12 p.m. on July 10, 2026, regarding an altercation between two groups in Kandholhumaa Goalhi, Villimalé.
Police reported that four individuals sustained injuries in the altercation and have been transported to the hospital for medical treatment. According to the police, the victims taken to the hospital are four Maldivian men, aged 18, 22, 27, and 31.
Police have confirmed that they are currently investigating the matter.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu announced last November that gangs had been eradicated from the Maldives. However, arrests continue to be made in cases involving individuals organized in gangs attempting to carry out acts of violence.
