Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has confirmed that one of the two individuals injured after falling from a building under construction on Majeedhee Magu in Malé has been discharged.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:53 p.m. on Saturday. According to reports, the victims have been identified as a 22-year-old Nepalese man and a 39-year-old Bangladeshi man.

Police reported that two individuals fell from a building under construction on Majeedhee Magu. According to the authorities, the incident occurred while the pair were working on the first floor of the building, and both were immediately transported to IGMH for medical treatment.

Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) informed RaajjeMV that one of the two individuals was discharged on Sunday after receiving treatment in the emergency room. The second person is currently admitted to a ward and is reported to be in stable condition.

While police have confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway, public outcry has intensified regarding the lack of safety measures for migrant workers employed on high-rise construction sites. Many members of the public have expressed concern that construction companies are failing to prioritize safety standards. This follows a history of similar tragic incidents where workers have fallen from heights while on the job.
