Four youths arrested in Hulhumalé on suspicion of causing a public disturbance while under the influence

Police have arrested four individuals, including two men and two women, following a disturbance at an apartment in Hulhumale' Phase 1. The suspects are accused of being under the influence of alcohol, and authorities confirmed that several empty liquor bottles were discovered during a search of the premises.

Two young women and two men have been arrested in Hulhumalé Phase 1 on suspicion of causing a disturbance while under the influence of narcotics.

Regarding the matter, police stated that they responded to a report of a disturbance at an apartment in Hulhumalé Phase 1 at approximately 6:05 a.m. on June 27, 2026.

Police stated that investigation officers and forensic scene-of-crime teams have searched the apartment and gathered evidence necessary for the investigation. According to the police, the evidence collected includes bottles suspected to have previously contained alcohol.

Police further stated that four individuals have been taken into custody in connection with this case. According to the authorities, the suspects include two women, aged 26 and 29, and two men, aged 24 and 34.

As the police continue their investigation into the matter, videos showing the individuals involved in the disturbance have circulated on social media. The footage depicts a man and a woman on a balcony as police officers attempt to de-escalate the situation and separate them.
