Numerous RDC employees in Milandhoo issued transfer notices to other islands
The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has abruptly decided to transfer a significant number of its employees based in Milandhoo to remote project sites. Critics and concerned parties are expressing alarm over the move, alleging that the government is using these forced transfers as a tactic to pressure staff into resigning rather than undergoing formal terminations.

A significant number of employees working for the Road Development Corporation (RDC) in Sh. Milandhoo have been issued notices informing them of their transfer to other islands.
Ahmed Shiyam, a former member of the Milandhoo Council, told RaajjeMV that the Road Development Corporation (RDC) has been issuing transfer notices to numerous employees since Wednesday. He noted that according to reports, these notices are being targeted specifically at employees who are members or supporters of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP). Shiyam further stated that those being reassigned include employees who are currently in situations that make it impossible for them to relocate to another island.
Furthermore, Shiyam stated that the government has run out of options and is now forced to reduce its workforce. He noted that instead of direct dismissals, employees are being pressured to resign through sudden transfers to different work sites.
RaajjeMV has obtained copies of several transfer notices issued to employees. According to these documents, a number of staff members have had their work sites changed effective from the 14th of this month. Under these new assignments, employees have been transferred to Road Development Corporation (RDC) sites in GDh. Gadhdhoo, GA. Villingili, and GA. Gemanafushi.
Ahead of every election, state-owned enterprises recruit a significant number of employees in Milandhoo. This trend continued during the Local Council and Women's Development Committee elections held on April 4, as well as the recent referendum, where numerous individuals were granted employment. Reports indicate that the Road Development Corporation (RDC) alone has hired over 70 employees who currently have no assigned tasks.
