Meekail Ahmed Naseem, a candidate for the chairperson of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), has stated that the party's general members wish to move forward with those who have remained steadfast and loyal to the party.
Meekail made these remarks in a special message delivered during the "Ithubaaru" campaign team's ongoing tour of the atolls, specifically during their current visit to Laamu Atoll. After concluding campaign activities in Huvadhu Atoll on Wednesday, the team is now stationed in Laamu Atoll. Meekail noted that in every island they visit, members are reaffirming their commitment to the party and demonstrating that those aligned with the MDP remain steadfast in their support.
Meekail stated that the general membership of the MDP wishes to shape the party's future alongside a new, younger generation. He further noted that members are eager to see fresh, young faces integrated into the party's top leadership. Meekail added that for the sake of the party's future, the membership is prepared to cast their votes for "trust" in the upcoming MDP chairperson election scheduled for June 12.
