Former President Mohamed Nasheed, a candidate for the MDP chairmanship, has stated his belief that he is the only individual capable of reorganizing the "Yellow Army" and reigniting the party's passion and momentum.
Nasheed made these remarks during his campaign tour of the atolls for the MDP chairperson election. He noted that his participation in these activities has led to a visible surge in support and increased membership for the party.
Nasheed stated that the MDP regained its momentum and the party's signature yellow began reappearing across the islands only after he personally stepped out to lead the efforts. He remarked that had anyone else been capable of achieving this, it would not have reached the point where his direct involvement was necessary.
President Nasheed stated that he would undertake the necessary efforts to return the MDP to power. He further emphasized the importance of collective action and urged everyone to work together toward this goal.
The election for the chairperson of the MDP is scheduled to be held this coming June.
