BML,SMU unite to forge the next generation of banking leaders
BML and SMU have partnered to deliver customized educational courses and leadership training for the bank's workforce. This collaboration aims to build internal competency and establish globally standardized tracks for future economic leaders. Following the success of forty employees in previous leadership programs, the bank continues to invest in staff development to enhance its professional skills and banking services.

Bank of Maldives (BML) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Singapore Management University (SMU) to bolster their strategic alliance regarding professional education, capacity building, and leadership development.
This newly signed agreement officially establishes and broadens the current cooperation between the BML Academy, which is the financial institution's dedicated hub for professional and academic growth, and SMU Academy, the specialized professional training division of the university.
As part of this alliance, SMU will assist in creating and executing customized educational courses for the workforce at BML, while also establishing internal competency by means of systematic knowledge sharing. This cooperation is designed to reinforce the ability of BML Academy to expand premium growth opportunities and establish definitive routes for ongoing professional progression.
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of BML Mohamed Shareef, noted that the alliance highlights the financial institution's continuous dedication to cultivating a robust succession of leaders and elevating professional skills throughout the organization. He stated that because the institution is the largest banking entity in the Maldives, it holds a significant responsibility in guiding the nation's economy. He added that BML Academy is establishing systematic, globally standardized educational tracks designed to give authority to upcoming economic leaders.
Prominent efforts carried out alongside SMU during the previous year resulted in forty workers from BML successfully finishing leadership courses. Specifically, twenty senior executives obtained an Executive Certificate in Leadership and People Management directly from SMU, and an additional twenty workers obtained a Certificate in Leadership and People Management through BML Academy after finishing a certificate course directed by SMU. Comparable groups of workers are currently participating in these training programs as the alliance progresses.
BML persists in its dedication to funding staff growth and upgrading skills throughout the company, which aids its current evolution and its dedication to providing improved banking solutions. The financial institution continues to provide structured programs for professional growth to its workforce through the BML Academy.
