President Muizzu to visit Sri Lanka from May 3 to 6
At the invitation of Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is scheduled to undertake a state visit to Sri Lanka from May 3 to 6, 2026. Aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, the visit will include official high-level talks and the signing of several key Memoranda of Understanding across various sectors. The President will be accompanied by the First Lady and a high-level government delegation.

At the invitation of Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is scheduled to undertake a state visit to Sri Lanka from May 3 to 6, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the President's Office, President Muizzu is scheduled to meet with senior Sri Lankan officials during this visit. He is also set to hold official talks with President Dissanayake to discuss further strengthening the bilateral relations between the two nations.
During this visit, the President is scheduled to meet with senior Sri Lankan officials and hold official talks with the President of Sri Lanka to further strengthen the close bilateral ties between the two nations. Furthermore, the two leaders will witness the exchange of several agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation across various sectors between the two countries.
Accompanying the President on this trip is First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, along with a high-level delegation comprising cabinet ministers and senior government officials.
The President's Office stated that this visit underscores the high priority the Maldivian government accords to further strengthening ties with Sri Lanka. The statement also noted that this visit follows President Dissanayake’s trip to Malé last July, which commemorated the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
