President Muizzu’s government will face nothing but public disgrace and humiliation from this point forward: Abbas
MP Abbas stated that those receiving high salaries from public funds to defend government policies have failed to silence the few voices speaking out against the administration's flawed agenda. He noted that despite attempts to distort the truth through power, influence, and money, such efforts will not succeed as the government has already been discredited before the public. These criticisms come at a time of mounting public concern over the administration's economic policies and the proliferation of political appointments.

Velidhoo MP Mohamed Abbas has stated that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration can no longer regain public trust by blaming the previous government to mask its own incompetence, nor through the use of financial influence or intimidation. He further asserted that the government now faces inevitable public disgrace and exposure before the Maldivian people.
In a post on X on Tuesday, Abbas stated that those tasked with defending the government now find themselves silenced and paralyzed, with no further excuses to offer. He further noted that the individuals employed by President Muizzu—who are paid millions in taxpayer money to promote and market the administration's flawed policies—are now at a dead end, unable to justify or defend the government's actions.
Online news outlets funded by millions of rufiyaa, along with a handful of "female bots" receiving hefty salaries from public funds, now find themselves at a dead end, unable to defend failing policies. This team, commissioned to spread disinformation on social media in exchange for substantial state-funded benefits, has completely lost its way.Mohamed Abbas, the Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) member representing the Velidhoo constituency in the People's Majlis.
Abbas stated that the vast army of activists employed by the current administration on high salaries has failed to suppress the few individuals who have courageously stood up against the government's harmful policies. He further noted that the collective efforts of the entire state apparatus to silence the small number of people speaking out for the rights of the public have now proven futile.
Abbas further stated that the power of truth far outweighs that of authority, influence, or money. He remarked that no matter how much is spent on hiring "bots" to manipulate social media or how much money is poured into news outlets to distort the facts, the clear and evident truth cannot be hidden.
Velidhoo MP Mohamed Abbas leveled these criticisms against the government at a time when the administration is facing significant public backlash over its policies. Concerns are mounting among the public, particularly regarding the government's economic strategies and its approach to making appointments to political positions.
