Surge in child abuse cases reported; 92 incidents recorded in March alone
Minister of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology Ihusaan has urged parents to be more vigilant as cases of child abuse continue to rise, with statistics revealing that 92 such incidents were reported in March alone.

Minister of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology Ali Ihusaan has stated that cases of child abuse are on the rise and has urged parents to be more vigilant.
Minister Ihusaan made these remarks during a press conference on Thursday. According to official statistics, the Family Protection Authority received 92 reported cases of child abuse in March of this year alone. These figures include 19 cases involving children who were victims of domestic violence. Additionally, there were two reported cases of bullying, 13 cases of sexual abuse, and five cases of child grooming.
Minister Ihusaan stated that cases involving violence against children reported to the police currently outnumber those involving children in conflict with the law. The Minister highlighted a concerning rise in reports concerning children subjected to psychological, physical, and sexual abuse.
"Cases of child abuse, violence, and sexual harassment are prevalent. We must remain vigilant against such issues," the Minister stated.
Minister Ihusaan has urged the public to prioritize the safety and protection of children. Relevant authorities have also appealed for the prompt reporting of such incidents and emphasized the importance of providing immediate psychological support to affected children without delay.
