A woman is being sought under accusations of abusing a child.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the case of violence against a child, is being investigated by the police station in Gadhdhoo island of Gaaf Dhaal atoll.

The woman is accused of beating up a child.

The police institution revealed that the summons notice was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the suspect and handover her summons notice, have been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track her down.

The summons was issued in accordance with Section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.

Summoned is Shafra Abdulla Adam, 25 and native to Gadhdhoo island.

The suspect was wanted for questioning in connection with the case.

The suspect is to present herself to the Adam Haleem Criminal Investigation Building or the Gadhdhoo police station at 10am on September 2.
