Speaking on RaajjeTV’s "Fala Surukhee" program, Azim stated that during the recent election campaign, he met with a significant number of citizens. He noted that a common concern shared by everyone was that the incumbent President, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, remains out of touch with the actual living conditions and hardships faced by the people.
Azim stated that the President is focused solely on fulfilling his personal interests, while the current administration is making no effort to address the hardships and challenges faced by the public. He further noted that instead of serving the people, the President is preoccupied with finding ways to consolidate and maintain his grip on power.
What we have witnessed is an attempt to cling to power and maintain status and prestige at all costs. In reality, the people elect a leader with the expectation that they will secure a prosperous and happy life for the citizenry.Male' City Mayor Adam Azim
Azim further stated that the current administration has failed to prioritize the development of essential infrastructure in areas reclaimed by the previous government, noting that many people would have secured housing had these efforts been pursued. Instead, he claimed, the government is focused on incurring massive expenditures under the guise of reclaiming Rasmalé.
Azim expressed his gratitude to all the citizens who voted for the MDP. Furthermore, he provided assurances that the MDP will fulfill its promises.
