Group attacks MDP candidate Shiba with motorcycle, inflicting serious injuries
Fathimath Shiba, a candidate for the North Hulhumale' Women's Development Committee, sustained serious injuries after being intentionally struck by a motorcycle while returning from a campaign event. Shiba is currently receiving treatment at Hulhumale' Hospital for a fractured nose and significant dental injuries resulting from the targeted attack.

Fathimath Shiba, the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) candidate for the North Hulhumale' constituency in the Women's Development Committee elections, has sustained serious injuries after being intentionally struck by a motorcycle.
The incident occurred late Thursday afternoon.
According to information obtained by RaajjeMV, the incident occurred as Shiba was mounting her motorcycle to depart after concluding a "door-to-door" campaign activity she was leading. As Shiba got onto the motorcycle, a group approaching from behind at high speed intentionally collided with her vehicle.
Shiba sustained severe physical injuries in the attack. Her injuries include a fractured nose and the loss of several teeth. Furthermore, reports indicate that she suffered various other injuries to multiple parts of her body.
Shiba was immediately rushed to Hulhumale' Hospital for treatment following the injuries sustained, where she remains under medical care.
Public concern is mounting following a dangerous attack targeting a candidate during an election campaign. Relevant authorities have yet to release official details regarding the incident.
