The interim chairperson of the MDP and Member of Parliament for the Hanimadhoo constituency, Abdul Ghafoor Moosa, has stated that the issues surrounding the PNC candidates contesting for Male' City are more numerous than the actual problems facing the city itself.
MP Ghafoor made these remarks while speaking at a rally held by the MDP on Sunday night.
The member stated that while former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom had announced years ago that the reclamation of Hulhumale' was intended to provide housing for the residents of Male', it was only the preceding MDP administration that had the political will to grant free housing to the city's population.

Ghafoor further stated that MDP candidates are distinct, emphasizing that they are individuals dedicated to serving with sincerity. He noted that only such individuals are capable of truly serving the public, adding that the issues surrounding the PNC candidates contesting for Male' City far outweigh the actual problems facing the city itself.

Furthermore, Ghafoor stated that the current administration lacks any sincere intention to serve the public. He added that this is not a government that fulfills its pledges, asserting that the public is instead witnessing a continuous pattern of deception.
Ghafoor assured that the MDP will remain steadfast in its commitment to advocating for the rights of the people.
