President officially designates "Ungulu" in North Maalhosmadulu Atoll as part of administrative jurisdiction of "Ungoofaaru" in same atoll
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday officially designated the island of Ungulu in Raa Atoll as part of the administrative jurisdiction of Ungoofaaru, exercising the powers vested in the President under the Decentralization Act.

In accordance with his presidential pledge, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has officially designated the island of "Ungulu" in North Maalhosmadulu Atoll as part of the jurisdiction of "Ungoofaaru" in the same atoll.
According to the President's Office, the President made this determination under the powers vested in him by Section 134(a) of Act No. 7/2010 (the Decentralization Act). This change was implemented on Thursday.
Following the enactment of this decree, the President has updated and published the official list of inhabited islands in the Maldives in the Government Gazette, as stipulated in the schedule of Presidential Decree No. 2/2025 (Determination of Inhabited Islands in the Maldives).
