The under 16 national team has departed to Tajikistan for the under 16 AFC qualifiers.
Maldives is in Group B, along with Tajikistan, Oman and Syria.
The young team will face off against Oman on Wednesday in the opening match. On Friday, the team will face hosts Tajikistan and Syria on the 24th of this month.
Victory Sports Club’s former Coach Mohamed Shaazlee takes up as the coach for the young team.
While the under 16 team departed for Tajikistan, the under 18 team had departed to Bhutan for the under 18 SAFF Championships. The team will battle hosts Bhutan in the first match of the Championship on Monday.
