Observers note that such dangerous incidents are frequently occurring in the Maldives due to negligence in adhering to mandatory health and safety standards. It is further highlighted that the failure to provide adequate safety measures for employees, particularly within the construction industry, remains a significant concern.
Many observers point out that the failure of relevant government authorities to take action against negligent parties is the primary reason such incidents continue to recur. There are widespread calls for companies to implement robust measures to ensure the safety and security of their employees, with many demanding that stringent penalties be imposed on those who fail to comply.
