MDP successfully concludes door-to-door campaign in Central Machangolhi
Mayor Azim stated that citizens want council members who serve with sincerity. He emphasized that there is no benefit to the public in electing individuals who lack professional integrity or fail to honor their commitments. Azim also noted that after he raised concerns regarding the failure of PNC councilors to attend council meetings, efforts have been made to misrepresent the situation and mislead the public.

The opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has successfully concluded its door-to-door campaign activities in the Central Machangolhi constituency.
Speaking at the event, Male' City Mayor Adam Azim, who is contesting for re-election on the MDP ticket, stated that citizens want council members who serve with sincerity. He emphasized that there is no benefit to the public in electing individuals who lack professional integrity or fail to honor their commitments. Azim also noted that after he raised concerns regarding the failure of PNC councilors to attend council meetings, efforts have been made to misrepresent the situation and mislead the public.
"These are matters visible to the public, and today, the people are watching closely. There must be a higher level of accountability. MDP candidates will undoubtedly remain sincere to the people, and that is why they should be elected," he said.
In addition to Azim, Rasheeda Rashad—a current member of the Women's Development Committee (WDC) contesting on the MDP ticket—asserted that the track record of the party's candidates proves their dedication and productivity. She highlighted key achievements such as creating more opportunities for workers and launching new initiatives like the "Rani Award." She further emphasized that the public would best benefit from having both a City Council and a WDC led by the MDP.
Among the various activities held on Saturday, a special Iftar hosted by the Mayor took place. The event was held at Lemongrass Citron Cafe.
Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and several senior officials from the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) attended the Iftar event. Additionally, a number of high-ranking figures within the MDP leadership participated in the gathering. Among those in attendance were several former members of the People’s Majlis.
Furthermore, the Iftar was attended by several members of the MDP grassroots, as well as candidates contesting in the upcoming local council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) elections. The gathering was organized with the objective of fostering camaraderie and strengthening ties by providing an opportunity for members to meet in a social setting.
