PNC Candidate Moosa Ali Jaleel Pulls Out of Debate at the Last Minute
All candidates for the Male' City mayoral election have agreed to participate in the upcoming debate organized by RaajjeTV, with the exception of PNC candidate Moosa Ali Jaleel. The debate, scheduled for late March, will have its format and specific details finalized following consultations with the participating candidates, and an official date for the event is expected to be announced shortly.

The People's National Congress (PNC) has announced that its candidate, Moosa Ali Jaleel, will not participate in the upcoming debate for the Male' City mayoral election.
As RaajjeTV makes final preparations for the debate, invitations have been extended to all candidates contesting the Male' City mayoral election to participate in the event.
By the deadline of 4:00 PM on February 15, 2026, all candidates had accepted the invitation to participate in the debate, with the exception of PNC candidate Moosa Ali Jaleel. The party informed organizers of Jaleel's decision to opt out of the debate shortly before the established deadline expired.
Regarding the debate, RaajjeTV’s Deputy Chief Operating Officer (Deputy COO) Naazmee Saeed stated that the date for the event will be announced very soon.

The candidates contesting for the position of Male' City Mayor are Adam Azim (MDP), Moosa Ali Jaleel (PNC), Ahmed Aiham (Independent), Ismail Zariyand (Independent), and Abdulla Mahzoom Maumoon (MDA).
