FAM’s Diamond Jubilee football tournament set to begin this Saturday
FAM is hosting an Under-19 Invitational Tournament featuring four schools in a round-robin format starting this Saturday. Further, a senior tournament involving the national teams of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal is scheduled for June. These events are part of a series of large-scale celebrations managed by a special committee to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Maldivian football.

The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has scheduled the Diamond Jubilee Invitational Tournament to begin this Saturday as part of the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of Maldivian football.
For the Diamond Jubilee Under-19 Invitational Tournament, the association has invited four educational institutions: Ahmadhiyya International School, the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE Hulhumalé), the Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE Malé), and Villa International High School.
The tournament will kick off on Saturday afternoon with a match between Ahmadhiyya International School and CHSE Hulhumalé. This will be followed by a night match featuring Villa International High School against CHSE Malé. The competition will be played in a round-robin format, with the top two teams progressing to the final. The final match is scheduled to be held on the afternoon of February 15.
In addition to the youth invitational tournament, FAM has also planned a senior tournament to mark the 75th anniversary of Maldivian football. The senior tournament is scheduled to take place from June 1 through June 10 this year, with invitations extended to the national teams of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
FAM has stated that it intends to organize a series of large-scale events to commemorate the diamond jubilee of Maldivian football. A special committee has been formed to manage the anniversary celebrations and is currently working on various activities linked to the occasion.
