The resolution submitted to the People's Majlis regarding the K-Park Residency project has been accepted.
The resolution was accepted on Tuesday with the votes of 61 lawmakers who participated in the vote.
During the debate on the resolution, the member who submitted it, MP for North Galolhu constituency Mohamed Ibrahim, said that there is no system to monitor and oversee projects like the K-Park Residency initiative. The lawmaker has expressed concern that solutions are not being found for such issues.
A petition has also been submitted to the parliament regarding the prolonged and unresolved housing issue related to the K-Park Residency project, a condo being developed in Hulhumalé.
In a letter sent to the Speaker of the Majlis regarding the petition, MP for North Galolhu constituency Mohamed Ibrahim, stated that the issue of the petition is related to the prolonged and unresolved housing problem associated with the K-Park Residency initiative.
The letter also stated that it is unacceptable for a state-empowered, resource-rich institution like the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to fail to provide basic justice or relief to those affected by the issue.
