The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revealed that Covid-19 cases have been observed to have increased recently in the Maldives as well, and therefore appealed for vigilance.
The public health authority made this appeal on Thursday.
As Covid-19 cases rise across the region, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported a similar upward trend in the Maldives over the past several weeks.
The public health authority also noted a higher-than-usual incidence of seasonal illnesses typically seen during this period, including dengue, viral fever, and influenza.
In response, the HPA has urged the public to adopt health safety practices and precautionary measures to protect both themselves and those around them.
Covid-19 infections are rising sharply across several countries in the South Asian region.
As such, Covid-19 cases have been reported in Thailand and neighboring India, with reports indicating a rise in infections in several regions across India.
