B. Eydhafushi has clinched the top spot in Group B after defeating Malé City in the final match of the group stage in the ongoing 90 Plus Gold Cup football tournament.

Eydhafushi went head-to-head with Malé City on Sunday night, at the Galolhu National Stadium.

Eydhafushi won the match 2 – 0.

Before the match, both teams had won their previous matches. Therefore, the first place in the group was to be determined by the winner of Sunday night’s match.

Eydhafushi took the lead against Malé City with a goal scored by Ahmed Aiham. He scored the goal by converting a free kick awarded to the team. As Malé City was working to score a goal, Eydhafushi extended their lead with a second goal in the second half. The goal was scored for the team by Mohamed Fasir.

With this victory, Eydhafushi has won all three of their matches, securing the top spot in the group with nine points. Malé City, with two wins and six points, takes the second place. Both teams have secured their spots in the second round of the tournament. The other two teams in the group; Th. Thimarafushi and B. Thulhaadhoo, have not earned a single point.
