Ibrahim Nooradeen has been dismissed from the board of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
He was dismissed on October 24.
Nooradeen was removed from his position by the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB).
A source familiar with the matter told RaajjeMV that Nooradeen was dismissed by the PCB.
The source also stated that this information has not been publicly announced to any party, and the reason for his dismissal has not been disclosed either.
Further, the company is to have issued a circular regarding the company's Board of Directors.
The circular issued by MACL states that changes have been made to their Board of Directors in connection with the changes brought by the Privatization and Corporatization Board on October 24.
Members of MACL’s Boad of Directors include:
- Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, CEO and MD (Executive Director)
- Ibrahim Siyad Gasim, Director (Non-Executive)
- Ibrahim Mahudhee, Director (Non-Executive)
- Sahar Waheed, Director (Non-Executive)
- Mohamed Riyaz, Director (Non-Executive)
MACL’s Board presently consists of five members.
Previously, there were six members including Ibrahim Nooradeen.
Nooradeen was appointed to the MACL Board of Directors back in March 2019.
He served as a board member from 2005 to October 2008 as well.
Nooradeen held the position of the Board’s Chairman from December 2008 to 28 June 2010, during the administration of former President Mohamed Nasheed.
In addition to this, Mohamed Umar Manik resigned from the position of Board Chairman on 28 January 2024.
Manik joined the MACL Board in 2013. Since then, he had been serving as the Chairman of the company.
