Tycoon Qasim's son appointed to MACL board
The appointment was made by the Privatization and Corporatization Board of the Maldives
Ibrahim Siyad Qasim, son of Jumhooree Party leader, Qasim Ibrahim
Son of Jumhooree Party (JP) leader, Qasim Ibrahim, Ibrahim Siyad Qasim has been appointed to Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL)’s Board of Directors.
Having served as the Managing Director of Villa Group, Siyad was appointed to MACL’s board by the Privatization and Corporatization Board of the Maldives (PCB), after his name was nominated by the President’s Office.
PCB appointed Siyad as a non-executive member.
With this appointment, MACL’s Board of Directors currently comprise of Chairman Mohamed Umar Manik, Director Ibrahim Nooradeen, Director Dr. Ibrahim Mahfooz, Director Aishath Aroosha, Director Ahmed Eman Moosa and Director Siyad Qasim.
MACL’s Managing Director, Gordon Andrew Stewart was sacked from his position on November 10, this year.
