Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has disclosed that some parts of Hulhule lagoon and roads will be closed for the arrival and departure of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, on 15 and 17, January.
MACL stated that some parts of Hulhule lagoon and roads will be closed from 09:00 am to 11:00 am on 15 January 2023 and from 07:30 am to 08:30 am on 17 January 2023 for a VVIP movement.
The company went onto note that the MACL staff bus and MTCC bus will stop at the Western Parking Area during the above mentioned times.
MACL ferry will stop at Western Parking Area's adjacent harbor.
MACL states that sea vessels may only enter and exit the lagoon from the southernmost channel during these hours.
Additionally, the company advices all sea vessels moored in the lagoon, between the channel in front of the Cargo Terminal and the channel in front of the President's Jetty, to be removed one hour in advance to the aforementioned times.
Furthermore, the road from the north corner of the International Terminal to the north corner of the Domestic Terminal will be closed during these hours.
MACL states that vehicles and pedestrians must follow commands of the security personnel when using the road during these hours.
The Cambodian PM is scheduled to arrive in Maldives on 15 January.
He will conclude his trip on January 17.
His visit comes upon the official invitation of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
During his official visit to the archipelago, the Cambodian Prime Minister will be engaging in official talks with the president and observing the signing of several agreements on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The Chambers of Commerce of both countries will also attend a business forum hosted by the Ministry of Economic Development on the sidelines of the visit in a bid to intensify business-to-business interactions and to enhance trade and commerce between Maldives and Cambodia.
