Ahmed Shahir from Maldives has been appointed as the match commissioner for the football game between Sri Lanka and Cambodia in the Asian Cup qualifiers, slated for Thursday.
Shahir is included among Asia’s best match commissioners.
He has conducted the pre-match managers’ meeting to be convened before the game, on Wednesday.
The match will be held at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Shahir, who has been appointed for the qualifying match for the tournament to be held in Saudi Arabia in 2025, is a skilled expert who has served as a commissioner in some of Asia's most high-profile matches.
He previously served as the manager for the national football team of Maldives as well.
Shahir is also the Chairman of the Normalization Committee appointed by FIFA in 2008.
