PCB mistakenly sacks MTDC Chairman Faiz

The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has mistakenly dismissed Chairman of Maldives Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) Abdulla Faiz.
The letter PCB addressed to Faiz on August 8, was signed by PCB President Hamdhy Ageel.
The letter reads that Faiz has been removed from the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors of MTDC, in accordance with the Privatization, Corporatization and Monitoring and Evaluation of State Commercial Establishments Act.
The letter also shed light on Faiz's contributions to the company and the company's board during his tenure as a board member.
However, PCB later revealed that the letter was sent to Faiz by mistake.
Some media outlets have cited an MTDC official having revealed that Faiz was notified that he would receive a letter confirming his re-appointment, on Sunday.
Faiz was appointed as Chairman of MTDC during the former administration of ex-President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on 13 February 2019.
