UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to the Maldives, Shoko Noda has paid a courtesy call on the opposition coalition’s Transition Chairman, Abdulla Shahid.
RaajjeMV understands that the meeting took place on Monday and discussions were held about the progress of the transition committee, having mentioned his meeting with the members of the committee.

Shoko Noda had in early October, paid a courtesy call on President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, following his momentous triumph over President Abdulla Yameen, who was vying for re-election in the Presidential election held on the 23rd of September, as well.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Shahid stated that the 13 committees assembled by the joint opposition team had met with a total of 67 state institutions. These committees comprise of 418 members.
According to Shahid, these members are very efficient and capable of bringing progress to the transition progress, who work as volunteers and do not demand wages.
