Head of Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Kedir Awol Omar has paid a courtesy call on Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef.
During the meeting held at the President's Office on Thursday morning, VP Latheef expressed gratitude for ICRC's continued assistance.
Highlighting that Maldives has a long history of cooperation with ICRC, VP Latheef assured the delegation that the Muizzu administration would fully cooperate in conducting Red Crescent activities.
Expressing gratitude to the Maldivian government for the continuous support and assistance provided to the organization, ICRC’s Head of Regional Delegation shed light on details of the expertise exchange programme.
The expertise exchange programme carries the purpose of including Maldivian authorities, according to the ICRC’s Head of Regional Delegation, who also briefed VP Latheef on other training opportunities being provided.
Discussions also revolved around the significance of further enhancing and sustaining relations between the organization and the government of Maldives.
