Voting will proceed through 05:30pm

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has urged all citizens to visit their respective polling stations and cast their ballots in the ongoing parliamentary elections 2024, as early as possible.

Speaking to media after casting his ballot to the South Maafannu constituency ballot box placed at Thaajudheen School on Sunday morning, the president stated that voting is a fundamental right of every citizen, and it should be fulfilled.

He has urged his people to cast their votes early without delay.

The voting process began at 8am at most polling stations across the country.

Polling will proceed from 8am through 5:30pm.

The Elections Commission (EC) had earlier revealed that they would not extend the voting time any further.
