Special Operations Police Officers on Monday forcibly removed Members of Parliament from Parliament premises.
This is the first time in the nation’s history sitting MPs were removed from their work place.
Videos sent to RaajjeMV shows several officers enter the Parliament floor and removed MPs. Parliament security officials had removed the Police officers from the floor as well. However, they had entered the area again and removed them.
Addu Meedho MP Rozaina Adam said that Police had come in, physically assaulted them. She also reported that some of the officers were intoxicated.
No statement had been released from Police, Army or Secretariat regarding the proceedings of the day.
