Plots of land allocated to develop 200 housing units in southernmost Addu City, have been handed over.
The Secretariat of the Addu City Council revealed that they held a meeting with the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure alongside contractor PT Citramas Heavy Industries in a joint venture with Beaver Builders Private Limited regarding the construction of the housing units in Addu.
During the meeting, details of the project were shared with the council and the land allocated for the project was also handed over to the contractor.
The project is valued at MVR 214,852,500 and comes under the state Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP) initiative.
The 200 housing units comprise of three-room apartments and span across 1,000 square meters. Two 11-story towers will be constructed under the project. The ground floor of each tower will provide space for business establishments, the tower’s maintenance office and parking area.
With a bathroom installed in each room, the apartments will feature a living room, kitchen, laundry area and a storeroom.
The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the design and build project to PT Citramas Heavy Industries in a joint venture with Beaver Builders Private Limited back in September.
